For a food nerd it’s understood to wonder how it feels to dine like a celebrity and what differs in their ingredients from the bourgeoisie. To give an insight, 3 private chefs share their secrets.
The Kardasian’s Kitchen
Our first chef,Khristianne Uy who has been working for the kardashians says “The kitchen sees and feels everything,” she gets to see the delight and distress of the family over the table “it feels welcoming” she says.
She believes being a woman is more of a green flag because this job is Anti-ego, and men often forget that they’re not at a restaurant, they’re a private chef; So all you have to say is a yes.
Chef K further explains that before even cooking for the client, she starts scanning the kitchen-plenty of peri peri? means they’re into spice. Cocoa in the cabinets? Means they’re into chocolate- This helps her in the do’s and don’ts of meals.”
As for when she had catered for the Jonas brothers, barbeque was a mandatory. Charlize Theron never wasted food. The kardashians however have a boundless list of meals, Kendall doesnt like spicy food, Scott Disickk is dairy free, kim watches her calories….an so on. She is in love with her job to the extent to say “I can really go crazy and make every single thing across the board, so everyone has four options, “Which I’ve done many, many times.”
NFL’s Private Chef
Charity Morgan tells about her journey of being a private chef. She had never planned on being a private chef, more so, she had never thought of being a Plant based- Chef. Morgan states that this began when her husband-former- wanted a specific diet to help him play football better. As packed her husband the lunch he wanted, the other NFL players requested if they could get the same diet too. Albeit she never fathomed she would, but she turned out to be the private chef of NFL players. Which helped her swoop her way in the celebrity kitchen too, of which Miley Cyrus being one of her clients.
In a wedding she made mac n cheese, fried chicken, cornbread biscuits, all plant based, which was hard to believe.
Morgan advises those who want to start a vegan life, it is impossible to change overnight. Do it eventually, even one meal a day can do enough.
Joseph Altuzarra’ Cuisine
Meredith Hayden cooks for the designer Joseph Altuzarra and his husband in the Hamptons. Nutrition holds the highest weightage in this kitchen, which is good for her as Altuzarra has an entire farm stand on every block which aids her in accommodating the green easily. As much as they tend to prioritize greens, Altuzarra and Weissman have a liking towards asian and french dishes- Super spicy and citrusy meals- One of their favorites is a recipe by Rick Martinez from Bon Appétit.
On days when a there’s a huge party, Meredith goes for her famous slow roasted salmon enough for 10- 15 people, she lays it on a sheet tray, covers it with citrus, shallots, olive oil, salt, and pepper, then puts it in the oven at 250°F for 30 to 45 minutes. It is the easiest and most impressive dish.
